KENDRICK RACING TEAM, TRIPLE M LOOKING FOR TRIPLE CROWN WIN

“All in all, it was a good weekend,” said Geoff Kendrick after Jason Kendrick contested two rounds of the Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series last weekend. The team broke a long drought on Friday night at Bunbury Speedway, with Jason taking a much-needed win. Then on Saturday night, he followed it up with a sixth, giving the team plenty of confidence when heading into the series Grand Final at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night. “We have finally got a good, balanced combination in the car that Jason is happy with and the team is happy with,” Geoff said. “The car is finally doing all the right things which resulted in the win on Friday night. “There has been an amazing amount of hard work put in by everyone and we must thank Glenno Inglis from Sprint Shack Australia for helping us, which has gone a long way to getting us back on track. “Brett Sartori is also back on the crew and has been a conduit for communicating all our ideas.” On Saturday night the car developed a vibration in qualifying which resulted in a uni joint being destroyed, which saw it, along with the driveline being replaced. Jason still managed a heat win and a second in the B Dash – and after starting fourth in the final, finished sixth. When servicing the engine on Sunday it was revealed a hardened valve tip was broken, “which took a lot of pace off our car, effectively running on seven cylinders”. “Despite this Jason did a great job to claim a half-decent result,” Geoff said. “We now have confidence in what we are doing and will take that into the final show this Saturday night, looking for another win. “We are also leading the Maddington Toyota Triple Crown by a couple of points and another win would give us confidence heading into next season.”
