After a well-deserved winter break the SP Racing Team are ready to launch into an exciting summer season. Although the winter period proved a great opportunity for team driver Daniel Pestka to step away from the hustle and bustle of Sprintcar racing to recharge the batteries, his crew chief James Stark has been in North America turning spanners, as he continues to gain valuable experience and knowledge on taming the 900 plus horse-powered Sprintcars. Team owners Jamie and Sandy Stark are geared up for a season that will see the Mount Gambier based team concentrate their efforts on mostly South Australian and Victorian events, which will include all of the major races such as The Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic and Kings Challenge, etc in addition to some (360) Pro Srintcar events. SP Racing will utilise their familiar Triple X and Craig Carrison Race Engines, a combination that has brought the team much success in the past. This Sunday, the first of October 2023, the SP Racing will reignite at the Murray Machining & Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway for the running of the Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge. An event that has attracted a strong field of over 20 competitors converging on the 360 meter clay way. A track where Daniel and the SP Racing team have tasted success, including last season’s 5K Pay Day, just a few days after the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic as teams transitioned their way to Western Australian for the Australian Championship at the Perth Motorplex. With Daniel and the SP Racing team set to knock the rust off and quickly get back into the thrust and parry of the dirt flying action they look forward to seeing you at the track.
